Much to my surprise, as I fed my Pachypanchax playfairii (a Seychelles killifish) a few days ago I discovered three frys. Between their size, the fact the tank is on the lower tier of a rack, and the fact that the fry stay near the surface, it’s incredibly difficult to photograph them. Therefore, no photos.
These are mop spawning killifish but instead I have a bunch of java moss (and, unfortunately, hair algae as well) and as advertised, they spawned in the moss/algae.
The female looks a bit ragged as if the male had been harassing her to keep her away from the eggs. I thought about relocating her to another tank, but when I planned to do that, both adults were hanging out together in the “Fred Flintstone” house.
For now, I just observe and hope the female recovers her strength.
