Not much new writing this week, although I did spend quite a bit of time answering some questions at wetwebmedia.com, so that sort of counts.
I’ve been debating whether to start the next novel or to give A Darkling Nine a first edit pass. There are pluses and minuses to both courses, and I’m leaning toward a first edit pass, just so that I don’t lose a couple of key changes that are stored in my head.
Here’s the status of the novels I am actively working on. (Some of the work is inside my head, but developing plots in my head is a key part of how I write.)
A Darkling Nine – First draft completed, awaiting edits.
Proxima Centauri – This originally had the working title Barnard’s Star, but the plot is close to being formed inside my head and I can’t make that location work. It’s the direct sequel to Rigel Kentaurus.
Flare – Vague idea of how this one will go, but need more subplots. This will probably be a stand-alone novel.
The Tenth Darkling – This will be a direct sequel to A Darkling Nine. I already have some ideas of how this will go.
Science Friction – I have been actively working on the plot for this stand-alone novel. I may bump this all the way to second in the queue. It’s a compelling story that I want to get out there in the world.
