First of all, a big thanks to everyone who participated. Without you, nothing happens.
I must confess I am a bit disappointed in how the second annual book sale went. This is where I donate proceeds from the purchase of my books to Phoenix Rescue Mission, a charity that feeds the homeless in Phoenix, Arizona.
Last year, I managed to collect almost $40 to send their way. This year, I only managed to sell enough books to donate $19.60, less than a third of what was generated last year.
Why I don’t expect to be able to generate the kind of buzz somebody like John Scalzi would be able to create, and probably four figures of funds to donate, it’s still something of a disappointment when I had fewer titles last year and still brought in more to donate.
Still, PRM says under $2.00 feeds a person Thanksgiving Dinner, so here is dinner for about ten people, thanks to the people who bought my books. Those ten people thank you, as well!
