Finally, I have some news on Fishpunk. I completed edits based on first reader comments, and have only a few minor details to address before I can call it a wrap.
Yesterday, I received the final cover painting. It is gorgeous, but it still needs lettering. I’ll be posting the cover to my website as soon as I have the completed version.
It’s funny. To me it feels like I have been a slacker and the book is long overdue for release. In reality, even though I slipped the release date, I have to remember that I typed the first word in February of this year. That’s under six months from initial file creation to release, something that is a bit slow for an indie author, but lightning fast compared to traditional publishing.
Once Fishpunk is out, I have a short story to write for an anthology invitation, and I have a project I’m not ready to discuss yet. In addition, I expect I’ll go back to working on A Darkling Nine once school starts. That’s the novel I plan to market traditionally. It’s about half-finished right now.
