My experiment with KDP Select for my novel Rigel Kentaurus is nearly over. For two days, the free downloads racked up, and my ranking in Science Fiction/Adventure category has been as high as #7. I just couldn’t seem to get past big public domain names like H.G. Wells.
Still, #7 isn’t too shabby, and my cover looks a heck of a lot better than some of the 4+ star reviews with 60 reviewers. The book cover held it’s end of the bargain.
The book goes back to the regular price in a few hours, and tomorrow I’ll learn if the free promotion translates into sales. The objective here was to elevate my visibility, and I’d have to say that objective was met.
