Against my better judgement, and with some reservations, I have decided to be a bit more vocal about politics on this blog. I believe I am a true moderate, and moderates have far too few real voices in this country.
I hold many of the fiscal conservative concerns of the Tea Party Republicans, but I stray from them in methodology, and I suspect in severity on some cases.
I also hold many of the social concerns of the liberal Democrats, though again, more moderate and less severe.
In some cases those ideologies may seem contradictory, and perhaps they are. One thing is certain. There are a lot of independents who have left both parties. These people decide elections, though in many states have no voice in selecting the candidates.
Independents are angry. Independents want change, though the only change we see is in the wrong direction, regardless of which party is in office.
So, I am going to start living up to the name of this blog, “Frothing at the Mouth.” I hope to be the voice of common sense and reasonable solutions. As such, I expect to be largely ignored.
Still, I am interested in all sides of debate, and in that sense of fair play, I intend to invite guest posts by people with opinions that differ from mine. I expect this discourse to be respectful and yet passionate.
In the next day or two, I will be posting on why I believe the Tea Party Republicans are responsible for the US credit rating being reduced to AA. I have also invited a person from Twitter with whom I have been slugging out this debate to write a guest post. He has tentatively agreed to do so.
