Yesterday I moved my old computer desk into the garage. To do that, I had to pull everything out of the storage area. Since I had to do that, I went through everything, throwing away whatever I knew I would never use. It took me a good four hours, but it’s done.
Today, I’ve been trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff I removed from the computer desk. Things are improving, but not as fast as I would like. I suffer from a severe lack of storage space, so every item undergoes scrutiny. Problem is, I’m a packrat so that often isn’t enough.
For example, right now there are 6 piles of magazines on the floor, sorted by title. With a heavy heart, I will probably jettison all my back issues of Locus and SFWA Bulletin. Tropical Fish Hobbyist contains useful information, so I want to keep those. National Geographic I already outlined my plan for in a previous blog post.
Still ahead is a stack of stuff that was in the old printer stand. I have to find somewhere to put it, because that particular pile is a bottleneck for getting this project finished.
The double 29 gallon tank stand is in place but sitting empty. The double 10 stand is still in the garage waiting for space. One of those ten gallon tanks will be the first filled, as I need to get a permanent home for my killifish within the next week.
I’ll have pictures when the place is more presentable.
