A month or two ago, I bought a double 29-gallon stand with tanks, and I have been waiting for the opportunity to move things around so I can set up the tanks. The community college where I teach has spring break this week, so this is my chance. I have to move furniture around like an old slide puzzle, but I did manage to get the tall computer desk with a smaller footprint into the home office by myself. (I have a history of moving alone furniture that takes two people to move. I have ways.)
The next step will be to transfer the computer and peripherals to the other computer desk so I can get this one out of the home office. The desk I’m currently using will be going into the storage area in the garage, and that will require a thorough cleaning of the storage area. I like this desk a lot, I have used it for probably 20 years. I’m keeping it on the hope that when we downsize the house after the kids are all on their own, I’ll be able to set it up again. I doubt I’ll find another one like this.
The change to the tall computer desk will probably happen tomorrow. I’ll be going dark at that time, but hopefully that won’t last too long. In the mean time, I have empty tanks, lamps, lids, and all kinds of other stuff scattered in this room. Boxes of stuff that had to be moved out of the way are all over the front room, and the non-functioning desktop computer I took out of the stand is stacked in the family room.
But, it’s progress.
