Those who follow this blog know that I started teaching myself guitar some time ago. I’ve been picking it up on and off for about the past two years. My current run is several weeks long and I got to the barre chord section of my book.
I’ve been working on A-style barre chords for about a week, always with a muted sound on the B string. I stumbled upon this web site which is part free guitar videos. A guy named Peter Vogl has some videos posted here, including one on barre chords.
Although I wasn’t really looking for anything specific when I found the site, I did watch the barre chord video, then I went back to my guitar. I made a very subtle adjustment based on what he said in the video and I’m pleased to say that it fixed the problem.
Woot! One major hurdle overcome!
